Topping Stays On at William Hill

Ralph Topping will continue to serve as chief executive officer of British bookmaker William Hill PLC until the end of 2013, according to the company. Topping was appointed CEO in February 2008 and has 40 years of leadership experience with the London-based firm.

Under Topping, William Hill purchased three sports wagering companies, including American Wagering Inc., for an investment of $53 million. The bookmaker also owns Club Cal Neva Satellite Race and Sports Book Division in Northern Nevada and Brandywine Bookmaking LLC of Las Vegas, which operates 16 Lucky’s sports books in Nevada.

Said William Hill Chairman Gareth Davis, “Ralph’s extensive experience has unquestionably demonstrated to the board that he is uniquely qualified to lead William Hill through this critical transition period.”
