Scientific Games Extends Ladbrokes Deal, Launches Kiosk

Lottery and gaming machine supplier Scientific Games announced that its SG Gaming subsidiary has extended its server-based gaming machine contract with British bookmaker Ladbrokes to 2019.

Under the agreement, SG Gaming will continue to supply and service gaming machines to the company’s estate of 2,250 licensed betting offices (LBOs) in the U.K.

This will include the provision of approximately 9,000 of SG Gaming’s Clarity gaming machines with additional touch-screens and improved CRM capabilities. These are to be installed during the first half of next year.

By renewing the contract, Ladbrokes has demonstrated its commitment to the products offered by SG Gaming, according to Phil Horne, group managing director at the U.K.-based Scientific Games subsidiary.

In other Scientific Games news, the company announced the launch of a self-service cash redemption kiosk as an addition to the company’s SafeCash product line of secure cash management systems for U.S. gaming route operators. Offering operators and players advanced security and self-service technology, the kiosks will initially roll out in the state of Illinois this month.

Designed with a player-friendly, touch-screen interface for convenient voucher redemption and optional bill breaking in international currencies, the self-service SafeCash increases operator cash handling efficiencies with one of the industry’s largest capacity commercial coin dispensing units.
