With casinos in Las Vegas and Biloxi, and one planned for Bossier City, Louisiana, celebrated singer and casino entrepreneur Jimmy Buffett is expanding once again.
Buffett is partnering with Resorts Casino Hotel in Atlantic City to bring his “Margaritaville” brand to the Boardwalk. The agreement with Resorts means that, in addition to Atlantic City, Margaritaville casinos will be featured in Las Vegas, Biloxi and next year in Bossier City, Louisiana.
The $35.5 million island-themed expansion will include casino space, two restaurants, retail shops and a year-round beach bar. Construction is expected to begin in September, with completion by May 2013.
“Atlantic City has always historically been a great beach town, and needless to say I thrive in those kinds of communities,” Buffett said.
Two weeks later, Buffett visited Cincinnati to announce a joint venture with the Horseshoe casino there, scheduled to open in 2013. Margaritaville will be one of four restaurants to be offered at the casino, owned by Rock Caesars Ohio.
Kevin Kline, the casino’s senior vice president and general manager, welcomed Margaritaville to a city that has such strong ties to Buffett and his music.
“Margaritaville Cincinnati is a great fit with the legendary Horseshoe brand, and it will be the ultimate destination for both locals and visitors alike to enjoy great food and entertainment,” Kline said.
