A 75,000-square-foot casino, owned and operated by Sun International of Johannesburg, South Africa, will open at the 70-story Trump Ocean Club International Hotel & Tower in Panama. Sun and developer Newland International Properties recently came to terms regarding the agreement, under which Sun will invest 5 million to acquire and construct the project, which is expected to open by mid-2014.
Located on the property’s mezzanine level, the casino will feature 600 slot machines, 32 table games and a restaurant and lounge. A Salon Prive will be located in the penthouse, offering its own restaurant and lounge area. Deluxe suites will be available for “elite clientele,” said a spokesperson.
Sun International Acting Chief Executive Officer Garth Collins said, “Given Trump Ocean Club’s iconic status, great location and up-market brand standards that match our own, we are very confident that, once operational, the casino will attract substantial numbers of both local and foreign visitors.”
