Pain in Nevada

The 2020 Nevada Gaming Fact Book was released in March. A publication of the Nevada Resort Association, which represents all the major tourism organizations in the state, the Fact Book emphasized what was already known: the Covid-19 pandemic hit the state hard. With Nevada tourism largely based on air traffic, the impact was brutal. The charts demonstrate the steep decline in visitors to the state, and the actual disappearance of convention-goers, the heart and soul of the midweek Las Vegas market, from mid-March until the end of the year.
