Non-Gaming Is the Name of the Game

It’s been the story for years. Gaming revenue just isn’t that important in Nevada anymore. In the 2019 Nevada Gaming Factbook, the chart at the bottom shows the increasingly sharp decline in the percentage of non-gaming revenue in the state, posting 42.8 percent in 2018. The disparity is much greater on the Las Vegas Strip, around 35 percent. The chart at the top shows the steady overall revenue growth since 2008 in Nevada from the combination of gaming and non-gaming revenues.

The Factbook is a publication of the Nevada Resorts Association and can be downloaded at NevadaResorts.org.
