Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun casino has completed a major modification of its gaming floor to create a floor-wide networked bonusing program in partnership with slot and system supplier Bally Technologies.
Called “PowerPlay Bonusing,” the program links nearly 6,000 machines on the second-largest casino floor in the U.S. to create property-wide bonuses from Bally’s Elite Bonusing Suite, using Bally iVIEW slot displays and the iVIEW Display Manager system.
The new system provides what the property calls “a one-of-a-kind gaming environment with real-time, point-of-play rewards and promotions, all without interrupting a player’s existing gaming experience.”
Easy-to-play progressives, slot tournaments, Virtual Racing and wheel promotions will be channeled to players instantly as they play, as well as giving players instant access to property information, entertainment, restaurants and retailers, as well as player club point balances.
Included in the new bonusing program is Mohegan Sun’s Virtual Racing Circuit. Launched for Memorial Day weekend, the program gives slot players casino-wide the opportunity to participate in a free, horse-racing bonusing event in which players can pick their favorite horse. Players picking the winning horse split a cash prize. A total of $750,000 was to be rewarded over the weekend.
