Massachusetts Names Licensing Director

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission last month announced the appointment of David Acosta as the commission’s first director of licensing.

Acosta has nearly 30 years regulatory and licensing experience in Ohio and New Jersey. His job will be to create the new licensing division for the state and then serve as its head. He will be responsible for enforcing and administering the Massachusetts Expanded Gaming Act.

Acosta comes to the job from a similar job as director of licensing for Ohio’s Casino Control Commission. Massachusetts Commission Chairman Stephen Crosby commented, “Mr. Acosta’s licensing expertise will be extremely valuable to the commission as we set forth to design and implement new administrative systems to support the highest standards of operation within the upcoming gaming facilities.”
