Las Vegas Sands Names President for Venetian, Palazzo

The appointment of Rob Goldstein as president of global gaming for Las Vegas Sands left a void in Las Vegas where Goldstein ran the Venetian and the Palazzo on the Strip. That void was filled last month when the company named John Caparella, the former COO of Gaylord Hotels, as the new president of the properties.
“John is very engaging and has deep hospitality experience,” said LVS Chairman Sheldon Adelson. “We’re glad to have John join us, and we think he’ll be a great addition to our Las Vegas operations.”

Caparella has 30 years experience in the hospitality industry. In addition to his time with Gaylord, he most recently served as a principal in Redmont Hospitality, a consulting firm to the hospitality industry. Caparella also was a senior executive with Planet Hollywood International, and did a long stint with ITT Sheraton.
