Grand Sierra Names GM

Reno’s Grand Sierra Resort has named industry veteran Steve Wolstenholme as its new general manager.

Wolstenholme’s 30-year gaming and hospitality career has included executive positions in the U.S., Canada and Macau. He began his career as a casino dealer, advancing rapidly through a number of titles and departments including casino marketing executive at the corporate office for the Atlantis Casino in the Bahamas.

In 1999, he joined Casino Niagara as vice president of operations, where he held a number of positions, eventually becoming general manager. In late 2004, he was transferred to the Fallsview Casino, as vice president of operations for both Fallsview and Casino Niagara.

In 2008, Wolstenholme joined Galaxy Macau as COO. In this capacity, he was responsible for the launch of the $1.8 billion mega-resort. Most recently, he has been pursuing gaming opportunities through his association with Prestantia Management Group Limited.
