The newest addition to Giesecke & Devrient’s wide-ranging variety of Near Field Communication products, SmartTrust Portigo is a comprehensive mobile wallet solution for NFC services that merges electronic wallet functions onto a common platform. Now debit and credit cards, ID cards, loyalty cards, public transport tickets and access keys for buildings and vehicles all will be available in Portigo’s electronic wallet—from any smart phone.
To use Portigo, users simply download Wallet Client software onto their mobile phones. Wallet Client establishes connections to a secure element, such as a SIM card, and to the Wallet Manager, which is provided in the mobile network by the wallet issuer.
