Evolution Cleared of Misconduct

The New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has closed its probe of iGaming software developer Evolution Gaming, finding no evidence supporting claims of alleged misconduct in serving U.S.-sanctioned markets.

The DGE launched the investigation after an anonymous report surfaced in 2021 alleging that Evolution’s products were available in countries under U.S. trade sanctions, such as Syria, Iran and Sudan, through the use of virtual private networks, or VPNs.

“The NJDGE found no evidence that Evolution sanctioned, promoted, permitted or otherwise materially benefited from its content offered by operators in any market that the NJDGE considers a prohibited jurisdiction,” a press release from Evolution said.
