Everi Announces Victory in CashClub Patent Suit

Everi Payments, the fintech arm of supplier Everi Holdings, announced that it has won in a patent lawsuit filed by Sightline Payments over Everi’s CashClub Wallet electronic payment system. Sightline claimed that CashClub Wallet infringed on five of its patents “that allow for cashless transactions used in casino gaming offerings and non-gaming spend.”

The original lawsuit, filed by Sightline late in 2021, was dismissed by the Western District of Texas U.S. District Court. Everi then filed for a review of the patent infringement claims by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Patent Trial and Appeals Board. The patent office held for Everi in all five inter-party reviews.

Everi’s CashClub Wallet enables cashless funding of gaming through player e-wallets. Over 20 gaming venues have adopted the platform across at least six states.
