Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City has appointed Mario DiGuiseppe as the property’s new general manager. He replaces Eddie Llambias, who recently stepped down to take a position Bally’s Casino in Tunica, Mississippi.
DiGuiseppe takes over at a pivotal time for Trump Plaza. A deal to sell the casino to the California-based Meruelo Group for $20 million has been stalled, as chief lender Carl Icahn holds out for more money. The billionaire investor holds the mortgage for both the Plaza and Trump Taj Mahal. He has final approval on the sale, and believes the offer is too low.
DiGuiseppe’s previous post was a few blocks down the Boardwalk at Trump Taj Mahal, where he served as vice president of casino operations.
