Atop the Podium

According to recent data from Jefferies and H2 Gambling Capital, the top three sports betting operators in Connecticut, Kansas, Maryland and Pennsylvania by market share through the first six weeks of the NFL season were, in order, FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM.

Handle share was almost dead even, with FanDuel accounting for 39 percent versus DraftKings’ 38 percent. However, FanDuel came out on top in terms of gross win share and net win share, trumping DraftKings by 11 percent and 28 percent in those categories, respectively.

BetMGM was fairly far behind in third place for all categories, accounting for 5 percent of handle share, 5 percent of gross win share and 3 percent of net win share.

In the same report, Jefferies offered “Buy” recommendations for FanDuel’s parent company Flutter Entertainment and for Entain, which co-owns BetMGM alongside MGM Resorts.
