The Las Vegas Convention And Visitors Authority Release Visitation Report

By GGB Staff   Tue, Dec 23, 2008

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority recently released its monthly visitation report, and the results are not good for Las Vegas casino operators. According to the LVCVA report, visitation was down 10.2 percent in October, the largest drop since September 2001. The occupancy rate was 83.8 percent, a drop of 8.5 percent from the previous year. The LVCVA measures numbers in 41 categories to determine visitation rates to Las Vegas, and the only good sign is a 14.3 percent decline in room rates (which is positive for value customers and not so good for casinos).
