Hollywood Park in Inglewood, California may be closing after its commitment to host horse races ends in summer 2009. The park, which opened in 1938, has seen the rise and fall of horse racing in California, and the Hollywood glamour that accompanied it. Bay Meadows Land Co. purchased Hollywood Park in 2005, stating its intentions to demolish the park and build a mixed-use commercial development in its place.
