Gaming Outside Goa
The Indian city of Daman, on the coast about 120 miles north of Mumbai, is set to be the site of the region’s first casino resort.
A 50-50 cooperation of experienced international developer and operator Thunderbird Resorts and local group Daman Hospitality, the $77 million project would feature a 52,000-square-foot casino with 500 slots and electronic table games.
Thunderbird subsidiary Impacto is managing the design and engineering of the resort, which will include a 200-room luxury hotel. Daman has provided 4,000 square meters of undeveloped land.
