Russian union says casinos should stay

By GGB Staff   Thu, Apr 03, 2008

The Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (Employers)—RUIE(E)—says that the plans to move all of Russia’s gaming to four undeveloped zones will hurt investment in the industry, according to a Bloomberg report.

The union proposes keeping gambling legal everywhere, but limiting casinos and slot arcades to tourism centers and hotels. Such a move would eliminate over 70 percent of current gaming locations, the union believes.

The RUIE(E) was founded in 1991 and is composed of various types of businesses, scientific research organizations, commercial structures, public associations and individuals.
