American Casino and Entertainment Properties named Phyllis Gilland vice president and corporate general counsel. She will oversee corporate legal issues and the retail, risk management and surveillance departments.

Gilland will report directly to Richard Brown, president and CEO of ACEP.

Prior to joining ACEP, Gilland served as general counsel and chief financial officer for the Taylor Construction Group Companies, in Des Moines, Iowa. Before that she served as general counsel for Principal International and associate general counsel for Principal Financial Group.
