Xanadu 9 Dragons
This is Atronic’s newest game on the “Passion Deluxe Top” series of reel-spinners, first seen last year with the dollar stepper version of “Deal Or No Deal.” It is a third-party game, built with a licensed version of Konami’s “Advantage” reel-spinning platform.

Five standard-sized, back-lit reels from the Konami platform are placed underneath a giant, vertical top box that houses a video bonus event and a three-level progressive jackpot.

To qualify for the bonus events, the player must activate all the paylines and make a 10-credit “Bonus Bet.” Atronic has made it easy—the game is in “Bonus Bet Active” mode unless the player indicate otherwise. A maximum bet of 175 credits per spin is required to qualify for the progressives.

The base game includes stacked wild dragon symbols on the middle reels—there are nine of these symbols; they can completely fill the middle three reels for multiple jackpots.

The three progressives are won through combinations of the wild dragons and jackpot symbols. The “Dragon 8” jackpot is the top one, resetting at the equivalent of 1.5 million credits ($15,000 in pennies). That is won with Dragon 8 symbols anywhere on the first and fifth reels and all nine wild dragon symbols on the middle reels. The middle “Tiger” jackpot—1 million credits—and the lower “Panda” jackpot—500,000 credits—are won in a similar way, with the jackpot symbols plus all nine wild dragons.

If three “Treasure Box” symbols appear scattered on the first, third and fifth reels, the player gets a quick on-screen bonus—it is a mystery credit win; the amount is random.

Yin/Yang symbols scattered on the first, third and fifth reels activate the main “9 Dragons Bonus” on the big top-box video screen. Fifteen tiles appear on the screen, and the player selects from them to match credit values. There are three pairs of credit values, translating into low, medium and high bonus levels. There also are dragons behind the tiles. Each dragon increases the multiplier for the bonus—there are nine in all; the player can increase his win up to 9X. Once that is over, the player chooses a secondary bonus—a random credit win or a random number of free spins. The multiplier achieved in the first round applies to that win.
