Mario Galea Resigns

By GGB Staff   Tue, Dec 02, 2008

Mario Galea, chief executive officer of Malta’s Lotteries and Gaming Authority, resigned last month. No reason was given for his departure. Galea took the position in 2004 and co-authored the Remote Gaming Regulations of 2004, making Malta the first European Union member state to regulate remote gaming. He was also instrumental in getting the Maltese government to publish the first online betting regulations in 2000.
