By GGB Staff   Wed, Dec 03, 2008

The Gaming Standards Association announced that NCR Corporation has become the organization’s newest Platinum member.

“Having NCR join GSA underscores the wide-reaching capabilities of GSA protocols, which can unite a casino’s systems to serve the customer better than ever thought possible in the past,” said GSA President Peter DeRaedt.

“As the leading global provider of self-service solutions, NCR is extending our expertise in the financial, retail, entertainment, travel and other industries to improve the way customers connect, interact and transact in the gaming resort environment,” said Scott Winzeler, NCR’s vice president of gaming. “The first step is teaming with GSA to ensure our broad portfolio of solutions is compatible with other devices and systems operating on GSA protocols to meet the needs of this dynamic industry.”

Additionally, joining GSA as a Gold member is the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission. Joining as Silver members are Hydako Co., Ltd., Intel Corporation and Manitoba Lotteries Corp.

In other GSA news, the organization announced the launch of “GSA University,” its educational program that provides instruction in applications of GSA protocols. The organization conducts classes both at its Las Vegas headquarters and at various off-site locations. Anyone wishing to enroll can do so through a dedicated website, www.gsauniv.com.  A schedule of classes appears on the site.
