Chen Leaves Harrah’s

Michael H. Chen, who has been the point man in the quest of Harrah’s Entertainment to open a casino in Asia, has stepped down. While Chen says he’s taking a year-long sabbatical, experts wonder how Harrah’s Asian ambitions can proceed without him for so long.

“I was offered a position in Las Vegas at Harrah’s which is great but I need some time off and they agreed to it,” Chen told Macau Business magazine.

Chen was formerly executive associate to Harrah’s Chairman Gary Loveman before being named the president of the Asia division. The only action that Chen had presided over was the purchase of the Orient (Macau) Golf Club, which has since been renamed the Caesars Golf Club.
