The Chilean gaming commission has proposed technical requirements for the eventual introduction of server-based gaming systems at the 15 casinos under its jurisdiction.

Moving quickly, the Superintencia de Casinos de Juego, or SCJ, published the technical consultation on September 2 and gave interested parties until Friday, September 10 to respond with questions and comments.

The consultation proposed that the central server of a “Server Supported Game System”—SSGS—must allow the secure downloading of a gaming program and its configuration, without affecting the development of any other game in progress during the download process. The server must be located onsite and within the casino employing this technology. Slot terminals connected to the SSGS must pay out a minimum of 85 percent.

In August, the SCJ issued technical requirements for the implementation of wide-area progressive systems and for the use of progressive jackpots in Caribbean Poker, Draw Poker and Go Poker table games.
