Sands Bethlehem to Open Hotel

Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem in Pennsylvania announced that it will open its long-anticipated 300-room hotel in May. The new facility, which will be the largest hotel in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley and only the second hotel attached to a casino in the state, will include 16 Executive Suites and six Presidential Suites.

The new tower also will include an indoor pool, fitness room, meeting rooms, complimentary continental breakfast and room service from the kitchens of celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse’s three restaurants at the property.

Sands officials have been promoting the hotel as the last piece needed to bring in gamblers from New York City, as well as the cornerstone of its long-term plan as a center for corporate meetings and executive retreats. The new hotel includes more than 5,000 square feet of meeting space and 3,000 square feet of pre-function and exhibit space. Sands will make a professional event planner available to companies to help prepare for events.

“We have been a proud member of the Lehigh Valley business community since we opened our doors nearly two years ago, and look forward to bringing even more new visitors to the area with the addition of the Sands Hotel,” said Robert DeSalvio, the property’s president. “With deluxe amenities, premium dining options and state-of-the-art meeting space, we expect the Sands Hotel to be a destination for leisure and business travelers alike.”

Lagasse praised the collection of dining options that will be available with the new hotel. “Whether you’re joining us in my restaurants, or dining in the comfort of your room, we want to serve a memorable and delicious meal,” he said. “I’m really excited to provide guests with this unique option as part of their overall experience while staying at the new Sands Hotel.”

The future master plan for the Sands Bethlehem complex includes a 20,000-square-foot shopping complex and nearly 50,0000 square feet of flexible multi-purpose space, as well as an industrial museum to incorporate elements of the former Bethlehem Steel plant, on which the resort is built.
