MTR Gaming Group, Inc. recently named Joseph L. Billhimer, Jr. as senior vice president for operations and development. Billhimer also will serve as president and general manager for Mountaineer Park, Inc., operator of Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort.

Most recently, Billhimer, who has 27 years of gaming industry experience, was founder and a principal of Foundation Gaming Group, which recently managed the successful sale of Harlow’s Casino Resort in Greenville, Mississippi, to Churchill Downs. Billhimer also served as president and chief executive officer at Premier Entertainment LLC, which developed and, after Hurricane Katrina, re-developed the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Billhimer also has held management positions at Caesars Entertainment’s Grand Casino Resort in Gulfport and at Pinnacle Entertainment’s Casino Magic in Bay St. Louis.
