John N. Roberts recently was named deputy commissioner of the San Manuel Gaming Commission. Roberts, an attorney, has served as executive director for the San Pasqual Gaming Commission in southern California and chairman of the California Tribal-State Association Regulatory Standards Taskforce.

Previously, Roberts was executive director at Robinson Rancheria Gaming Commission, general counsel to Hawaiian Gardens Casino, executive director for Blue Lake Casino and chairman of Harrah’s Rincon Tribal Gaming Commission. He was director of administration for the Kansas Lottery and a former assistant attorney general for the state of Kansas.

Roberts will serve on the San Manuel Gaming Commission with Norm DesRosiers, commissioner and former vice-chair of the National Indian Gaming Commission.
