Cordish Companies announced that former MTR Gaming executive Robert J. Norton has been named president and general manager of the soon-to-open Maryland Live! casino in Arundel Mills, Maryland.

Norton most recently spent two years as chief operating officer of MTR Gaming Group, which owns and operates casinos and racetracks in West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Prior to MTR, he spent 12 years in executive positions with Isle of Capri Casinos.

In his new role at Maryland Live!, which is slated to open in June, Norton will oversee all aspects of the property’s operations, including gaming, finance, marketing, human resources, hospitality and information technology.
