Mitchell Etess will step down as Mohegan Sun’s president and CEO effective January 1. He has held the position, and served as CEO of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, for four and a half years. Etess plans to concentrate on developing business opportunities for the gaming authority, an instrumentality of the Mohegan Tribe, which operates Mohegan Sun and Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Jeffrey Hartmann, executive vice president and COO of Mohegan Sun, and the authority’s COO, will become Mohegan Sun’s chief executive.
